ぼんやりと煙って見える竹林は、暗く夜の様です。風に吹かれて鳴る枝は、秋めいた寂しい音を立てています。

岩の下をくぐって流れてくる水には、すでに秋の気配が通っているようです。泉の水をすくうと、手まで涼しく感じられます。

夕月夜 小倉の山に鳴く鹿の 声のうちにや秋は暮るらむ
夕月がかすかに光る、暮れなずむ小倉山には、寂しげな鹿の声が聞こえてきます。あの鳴き声と共に今年の秋も暮れていくのでしょう。

空に群れたる田鶴(たづ)のさしながら 思ふ心のありげなるかな
大空に群れ飛ぶ鶴も、さながら貴方の長寿を祝う心があるかのように見えます。
作者 伊勢が五条内侍の長寿を祝って詠んだ歌。元は屏風に書かれたものだそうです。
墨流しを両面に施し、涼しげです。
